Vertiport is a research project, funded by the City of Hamburg, to develop a modular design for an eVTOL take-off and landing site for passenger and freight services of the Advanced Air Mobility. Our industry and research partners have a technical expertise that spans the whole spectrum of engineering services and solutions. This broad network enables us to look at the task from different perspectives. Starting with a pragmatic and realistic solution to get things going, we are planning ahead towards a truly innovative and sustainable solution based on realistic use cases.

In a time that needs new ideas to solve the challenges that lie ahead to create a green aviation industry and to solve the transport needs for a rapidly transforming urban environment, we have accepted the challenge. Vertiport is a research project, funded by the City of Hamburg, to develop a modular design for an eVTOL takeoff and landing infrastructure for passenger and freight services of the Advanced Air Mobility.

Hamburg is our prototype and reference city. Customised to the local specifics we develop a modular vertiport concept that comprises community acceptance and integration into the urban fabric. Our design approach delivers not only a technical viable solution but offers a sustainable and community driven and green transport system of the future.

We develop a modular Vertiport with a Cradle to Cradle inspired design approach to create a holistic, economic, industrial, and social framework that seeks to be essentially waste-free. Based on these principal design guidelines we develop a design concept that can be adapted worldwide to meet the local needs.

The Vertiport is developed irrespective of specific manufacturers for a large variety of vehicles. Whether it’s a small trip within the city or a longer intercity flight – a broad range of flight applications and intermodal transport opportunities will be ready to use for the passengers. The possibility for additional services is an opportunity to create additional revenue streams.

True scalability – A modular design enables a vertiport that grows with its needs. All functional and technical components are standardised. The required elements can be added as necessary to the overall design. This way we can offer for example a small Vertistop, custom-designed within the existing urban environment, or a Vertihub with multiple landing pads and a maintenance base.

The design and location of the vertiport offer the chance to boost local communities and to offer a service structure that benefits everybody. From open or public spaces, and sports facilities, to an integration into a complementary mobility concept and delivery services or just a sky bar with local and regional produce – we connect communities and create spaces to put in place social and economic opportunities for the people.

Our vertiport structure and the emphasis on re-use and re-vitalisation of derelict sites within the urban fabric provide social and economic benefits for everybody.

Our vertiports help to create a complementary and sustainable transport solution. An automated check-in and boarding process together with customised waiting areas, amenities, and facilities, in short – a departure area that is built around your needs. Security features such as advanced passenger screening and drone detection systems ensure the safety of the passengers and the surrounding community. Overall, we provide an innovative and convenient travel experience with a sustainable and safety-driven mode of transport for you.
